New F&P Healthcare partnership

The company’s donation will be used to refurbish the Fisher & Paykel Clinical Education Centre at Auckland City Hospital.

“The Clinical Education Centre is overdue for a refurbishment, and we are excited to see the improvements happen over the next year,” he said.

The Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Clinical Education Centre opened in 2004 on level 5 of the hospital. It offers lecture theatres for groups of 100 or 200, meeting rooms and a library where critical training is provided to medical practitioners. Thanks to the donation from Fisher & Paykel Healthcare and other key sponsors, the centre will benefit from upgrades to lighting, technology and furnishings.

The Auckland Hospital Foundation goes beyond what is currently funded in the healthcare system to support innovation, research and facilities, which have the capacity to transform healthcare and benefit the many patients and communities cared for by Auckland DHB’s adult health services.

“The foundation relies on donations and external support to turn ideas into reality,” said Green. “It is heartening to have the support of such an enduring and respected New Zealand company as Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, and we would be delighted if other companies follow their lead and join them in financially supporting the Clinical Education Centre’s refurbishment.”
