Your support, in memory of someone special, will help ensure the future of healthcare in Auckland is world-class – providing greater positive health outcomes not only for Aucklanders but for the whole of New Zealand.
You can give hope to others and help us advance healthcare in memory of a loved one.
When someone special passes, a gift in their name is a meaningful way to honour their memory. Your gesture will add to the legacy they leave behind, and touch people’s lives through funding promising ideas, innovations and technologies that have the potential to benefit our patients and community, but could otherwise not be developed without external investment.

We understand the passing of a loved one is an emotional time for all involved. It’s a time to reflect on everything your loved one has achieved, stood for and believed in. While a sad time, it’s also possibly a chance to make a positive impact in others’ lives. You can honour a loved one by choosing to donate to the Auckland Hospital Foundation instead of flowers at the funeral.
There are two ways to hold a funeral collection. For online donations, you can open an everydayhero account quickly and easily. Alternatively, or in addition to this, you can request that family and friends make private donations via envelopes at the funeral – this can be arranged at the funeral home.
When all donations have been received by the Auckland Hospital Foundation, we will inform you of the total amount raised in memory of your loved one. We will discuss your wishes to ensure we best honour your loved one, and ensure all funds raised have the biggest possible impact, providing greater positive health outcomes for everyone.
Please contact us if you’d like to donate in this way. Email candy@aucklandhealthfoundation.org.nz or call 09 307 6039.
This is another meaningful way to give hope to others and help us advance healthcare in memory of a loved one.
A tribute fund is a way to remember a loved one and raise funds in their memory, which will to help to advance healthcare and saves lives throughout New Zealand. Your loved one’s unique tribute fund allows you, your family and friends to raise money together in memory of that special person.
Many people use an online fund to bring together funeral donations, personal tributes and messages of condolence. A fund can also be an on-going place of remembrance, which can be shared and added to by family and friends over many years, and it allows anyone to make a donation.
A fund can be personalised with photos and videos to make it a deeply meaningful tribute to the life of your loved one. If you want to celebrate their birthday in years to come, or do something special in their memory in the future, this page will live on as a tribute to them.
At a time of loss, many people want to help in different ways. Friends and family may do a sponsored run, hold a bake sale, take on a challenge, or choose to make a regular gift to mark a special date. However people choose to help, through a tribute fund, all the funds raised go into your loved one’s fund.
We’ve got plenty of inspirational fundraising ideas, and you’ll also get support and advice from us every step of the way. Everyone who creates a tribute fund will receive a regular newsletter with stories about how they are helping to fund projects, research and education that will transform healthcare and wellness and the way it is delivered within Auckland DHB.
And of course, we are on hand to answer any questions you may have. We would be delighted to show you and everyone who has donated in memory of your loved one the difference their support has made.
To set up a tribute fund, we’d suggest using either everydayhero or Givealittle online platforms. Please contact us if we can help you in any way. Email candy@aucklandhealthfoundation.org.nz or call 09 307 6039.
