He breathes, cries, bleeds, sweats, talks, and screams

We're loving getting to know the latest and greatest addition to our world-class Cardiovascular team: Kahi.

Kahi is the Māori name gifted to SimMan 3G Critical Care – one of the world's most realistic simulation manikins – which has been funded by donations, including a major gift from The Lion Foundation.

SimMan 3G allows the team to train for every life-threatening scenario in a risk-free "real-life" setting, and everyone is immensely grateful and excited to learn.

Kahi has been making a difference since the day he arrived, with nurses shocked at how "high-tech and impressive" he is, especially compared to their previous 10-year-old "rapidly deteriorating" manikin. "

"Kahi has so many tricks up his sleeve; he will do great things for our team and teams across New Zealand, for many years to come
."

We look forward to sharing more about Kahi's impact – with all his human features and functions – and we hope to continue improving our simulation capabilities with your ongoing support.
