Leaving a gift in your Will, no matter how big or small, means that we can do more to help the thousands of people each year that need our help.
We will always spend your gift on the area of greatest need and greatest impact. However, you can choose for your bequest to be spent on projects across one of our four priorities; research, facilities, technology, and training. Or you can choose for your bequest to be spent on a particular department or service.
Bequests help to fund projects that would otherwise not be funded but will significantly advance healthcare and improve outcomes for future generations.
We understand that leaving a gift in your Will is a deeply personal decision. We respect your circumstances and that priorities may change and so might your Will. We promise to use your gift to advance healthcare at our hospitals.
Please contact us with any questions you may have about how your planned gift will be used. Anything you discuss with us will be held in the strictest confidence.
Contact your solicitor or a body like the Public Trust who help draw up Will’s, they will guide you with the appropriate wording to leave a bequest to Auckland Hospital Foundation. If this is an amendment to an existing Will solicitors can draw up a Codicil.
After you have considered the needs of your family and loved ones in your Will, consider the size and type of gift you would like to leave to the hospital such as whether it is a set amount, a residual gift after all other gifts are made or a percentage of your estate.
Consider also, if you have any special requests for the gift such as whether it should be spent on a particular service or department. If you don’t have a special request the hospital will spend your gift on the area of greatest need and greatest impact.
It would be helpful if you tell us about your intentions to leave a gift in your Will to Auckland Hospital Foundation. It is not binding and you can still change your mind at any time.
Telling us simply means we are able to recognise your kindness and thank you personally for your generosity. We would like the opportunity to keep you updated on our work, and communicate with you in a way that best suits you.
Any details that you make available to us are treated in the strictest confidence.
Be a supporter for future generations in our hospitals and fund the innovation that saves lives.
