There are over 400 volunteers working at Auckland City Hospital and its associated sites.

The hospital’s Volunteer Services are managed by a team that offers a comprehensive induction, on-the-job training and ongoing support.

The hospital looks for volunteers who have a mature outlook on life, are team players, thrive in a multicultural environment, and have a strong focus on customer service. If you have high-level communication skills, patience and tact, the Volunteer Services team would love to hear from you.

Volunteer Services asks for a commitment of a minimum of one shift per week, on fixed time-slots between 8.00am and 7.30pm. Various shifts are available.  The team is looking for a long-term commitment of at least a year from all volunteers.

The volunteer recruitment process includes a criminal history check, an immunity blood check, two reference checks, and a Vulnerable Child Act (VCA) check.
