Advancing the healthcare workforce
Our healthcare teams make a world of difference every day. Your support helps the dedicated individuals who provide the vital care we receive at Auckland City Hospital.
Your gifts allow us to go above and beyond, providing growth and wellbeing opportunities and assistance to our hospital workforce, and helping them deliver the best possible care to patients and their whānau.

Your impact goes over and above the essentials
While government funding covers the essential expenses of supporting our healthcare workforce, your support provides the extra support to help those who care for us thrive.
Many compassionate and dedicated people believe healthcare as their calling, but barriers often stand in the way of them fully following their passion. The need is urgent – New Zealand is facing a shortage of 15,000 nurses by 2035 – and we are grateful to our supporters for playing their part in bolstering this vital workforce. Our Rise scholarship programme has so far helped around 100 aspiring nurses and midwives overcome challenges by providing crucial financial support throughout their training.
Our Manaaki Fund gave immediate relief to 900 health workers during COVID-19 and supported those displaced by Auckland's floods. Ongoing assistance not only eases urgent pressures, it fosters long-term wellbeing for those in crisis and hardship who need a helping hand.
Our supporters help healthcare workers get the extra assistance, resources, and education they need to perform at their best. Helping them thrive is at the heart of why we exist: to ensure every patient and every whānau receives the best possible care.
